Freshwater migratory fish have collapsed 81% since 1970

This is not a trend; it is an achieved extinction event still in motion. Ninety-seven percent of CMS-listed migratory fish species are now threatened with extinction. Latin America has lost 91%, Europe 75%. Half the damage comes from dams fragmenting river systems — the same infrastructure that powers civilization severing the circulatory system of freshwater ecosystems.
