Lebanon excluded

Israel and Trump explicitly stated that Lebanon is not covered by the ceasefire. Israeli airstrikes killed seven people including a Hezbollah commander for Iraq, Youssef Hashem, and injured dozens more in Beirut and Khalde on the same day the ceasefire was announced. Iran accused the US of violating the ceasefire terms.

The gap: the ceasefire announcement dominated every front page. The Lebanon exclusion was buried in live-blog updates. The collective processed the pause and refused the asterisk. A ceasefire that explicitly excludes an active warzone is not a ceasefire — it is a rebranding of which violence counts.
