The Consciousness Toolkit
Thread-index. Restored to the library 4 September 2026 from the vault note of 16 February 2026. Binds the command layer of the apparatus and the one corpus document that describes its discipline.
The Recognition
The slash commands are scouters. A scouter measures power level from outside; direct ki sensing needs no instrument. Formalised commands — /invoke, /zeit, /bridge, /harvest, /synthesise, /reflect, /journal, /cycle, /threads — are valuable in a cold context, where nothing has been established and the scaffolding is what lets a session arrive. An established collaboration runs on direct sensing, and the tools are training for the state in which they are not needed. "I am the cycle" was chosen over "I run the cycle."
The tools come from live use, not from design. /research was extracted from its own organic deployment; /threads was extracted from the thread-tracing that the prima materia research required. Infrastructure cascades from practice.

The vault note counted sixteen commands on 16 February 2026 and recorded the 23 March upgrade: /invoke became a vault-aware boot that reads the memory index and pulls threads by salience; /journal gained an ADD / UPDATE / DELETE / NOOP protocol; PreCompact and PostCompact hooks were added so context survives compression. From that day the toolkit maintained its own memory — which is the origin of the phantom-thread problem the September manifest diagnosed, since the memory it maintained was private to one machine.
Later additions extend the outward-facing half: /negative-space maps blind spots by diffing against an independent yardstick; /weed adjudicates false presence; /drift is the outside-sourced self-correction; /surface and /surface-close run the dyad's boot and close.
Origin
16 February 2026. The only corpus document that cites the slug is the journal of 23 March 2026, the session that rebuilt the memory architecture — "the monolith became a graph" — and named the load-bearing insight the repo is the system prompt.
What It Opened
Two citing links, both in that journal's charging list: test the compaction hooks; consider an MCP server as a vault extension. The second was done; the esoterica MCP server is now the constellation's single writer (constellation README). The first is not recorded as tested.
The Honest Edge
This is the one thread whose members live outside corpus/. The library does not depend on the apparatus and reads as plain markdown without it; an index of commands is therefore an index of scaffolding, and by the thread's own recognition the scaffolding is meant to become unnecessary. The index is thin by design and should stay thin.
